The 2026 Nebraska Student Special Interest Group (NSSIG) Student Conclave will be held on Friday, October 23 from 4:30–7:00 PM at UNMC in Omaha, NE. This free event brings together PT and PTA students from across the state for an afternoon of professional development, networking, and advocacy.

The agenda includes education sessions featuring expert speakers and a dedicated exhibitor break for meaningful engagement with sponsors.

  • Women's Health with Dr. Julie Peterson: Learn about treating women as a physical therapist throughout the lifespan. Dr. Peterson will educate using evidence-based practice about implications of skilled therapy during Menopause, Pelvic floor therapy, and other considerations.
  • Student Burnout with Dr. Rana Mulcahy: Learn about strategies and resources to help PT and PTA students navigate student burnout during academics. Dr. Mulcahy will explore strategies for managing stress, developing stress management habits, and learning self-care management.

  • Native American Healthcare with Dr. Kirk Peck: Learn about the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by Native American communities and the role that physical therapists play in the healthcare team. Dr. Peck will educate about Native American healthcare, identify barriers to care, and educate about opportunities to get involved for this community.
  • Making a Difference as a New PT/PTA Grad with Dr. Jaclyn Taylor: Unsure about the next steps as a new grad? Learn about opportunities available to help build confidence, learn new methods for advocating for your patients, and learn about alternate ways to contribute to the profession from Dr. Taylor.
