The confluence of ICU surge, decreased post-acute facility access, and increased acute LOS has put hospitals under increased pressures to consider alternate strategies to facilitate throughput and sustain capacity by driving discharge directly home. This webinar will highlight the Johns Hopkins “hospital to home” discharge framework.

Surges of critically ill patients and concerns around infection control have led to shortages in post-acute placement options for patients with COVID-19. Furthermore, patients hospitalized with severe COVID-19 disease are subject to experience prolonged days of isolation, oxygen support, bedrest, and other hospital-acquired conditions that put them at higher risk for hospital-acquired debility and subsequent increased LOS.

Sapna Kudchadkar, MD, PhD

Once the immediate need of clinical education and preparedness is met, we still need to prepare for the non-clinical demands of a "post-COVID-19" world. Co-sponsored by HPA The Catalyst and the Private Practice Section of APTA, join us for presentations and town halls to discuss "non-clinical" topics.

We do NOT apply for CEU approval for webinars, however your state licensure may allow credits for this education activity. We do provide a certificate of attendance, which can be downloaded after the webinar has been completed. You will receive an overview email from the Acute Care office which will include the certificate of attendance. The certificate will also be available on our COVID-19 page the following Monday. You will need to contact the agency or organization in your state, which handles your professional licensure, in order to determine whether credit is available for webinars, and without applications for approval.
